Tutor Colleen Plank

Low impact dyeing gives the opportunity to create unexpected colours and imprinted designs using sustainable practices.

During this hands-on workshop, you will use local plants and found materials to create subtle colours on cellulose (cotton & linen) and protein (wool & silk) fibres and fabrics. The techniques you learn are suitable to be applied to clothing, accessories, furnishings, or for incorporating into patchwork, quilting and felt making.  The eco-dyed yarns yield beautiful soft and harmonious colours, these can be used for knitting, crocheting and embellishments.

Discover the magic of leaf prints using the ‘bundle’ technique on natural fabrics.

Colleen has had many years experimenting with natural dyeing, creating art works that have been exhibited nationally and internationally.  Colleen will be sharing many tips and a variety of techniques that you can use in your own practice, including eco dyed paper.

Two Day workshop $230 plus small materials charge of $20
